Welcome to The Dark Side: 2010

On Sunday, 8th August 2010, SMSA with our dean's office organised a visit to Detskiy Dom “Podnicok”, an orphanage in gorod Kaliyazin, Tverskaya region.This orphanage is populated by children, age between 6 to 18 years old. Overall, it was a fun yet satisfying day. We get to know the orphans better and have a glimpse into their life.

A Visit to Kuzminki Park

On 17th July 2010, SMSA has invited several Malaysians and other international students to walk around Kuzminki Park. It was a fun and sunny day. What a great way to spend time during the summer!

On The Set

SMSA Cultural Bureau in cooperation with our Dean’s office excursion bureau organized a special day visit to The MosFilm Studio on 14th July 2010 (Wednesday). The excursion started at around 3.30pm and lasted about 2 hours. We were brought to see film studios, a small town set, costumes and cars displays, film studio museum etc.

Into The Bunker 42

On 4th July 2010 (Sunday), around 50 students were brought 18 floors below to the Moscow Underground Bunker 42. This special excursion was organised by SMSA Cultural Bureau in cooperation with our Dean’s office excursion bureau. It was truly an extraordinary experience as we get to explore and know more about the history of Cold War.

BBQ 2010!

SMSA annual Garden Spring BBQ 2010 was held on 16th May 2010. It was a fun and enjoyable day with barbecue food, games and so on.

DS Competition 1 - Moscow Victory Day

As we knew, this is the first photo competition organized by The Darkside, sponsored by SMSA. The winners were announced during SMSA BBQ Day, 16/5/2010. We are planning to organize more photo competitions in the future. Cheers~

DS comment: The strongest point in this photo is the beautiful composition. The lines come from top-left corner tru the middle, approaching the source of light (the sun) creating a silhouette effect. The color can be improved, but it is more than good for a cameraphone standard. The only flaw is the black spot at bottom-right of the photo, causing some distraction.

DS comment: This is our #1 fav. You can see clearly the expression of 'pride' in that guy. Beautifully edited to create the 'old-skool' mood. Powerful message, it keep me wondering in future what can I be proud of during my youth time?

2010 Victory Day Outing

9th May is Victory Day in Russia (and other countries too!). This Year, the Dark Side has invited everyone to celebrate and commemorate this festive day!

Piala SFL

Pada 21 hb febuari yang lepas satu perlawanan futsal piala SFL telah diadakan di Zal M2. Final adalah diantara pasukan U9 dan pasukan Bambang. Perlawanan antara kedua-dua pasukan ini berlangsung dengan amat sengit sekali tetapi malang sekali buat pasukan U9 kerana cita-cita untuk merangkul piala SFL pada kali ini tidak menjadi kenyataan. Keputusan akhir perlawanan berpihak pada pasukan Bambang dengan pungutan mata 2-0. Pada hari tersebut juga telah diadakan acara pemilihan bagi sukan bola keranjang lelaki dan perempuan dan juga bagi sukan bola jaring.
